Diets principles for kidney disease

  Generally speaking, diets principles for kidney disease patients include five lower level aspects and one higher aspect:
  low potassium, low salt, low phosphorus, low fat, low protein and high vitamin.
  Low potassium: the food with high level of potassium include: all edible mushrooms, potatoes, yam, pakchoi cabbages, dates, banana, orange, tremella, peach, apricot, and spinach, etc.
  Low salt: the food with high level of salt include: soda biscuits, soy, and fried bread stick. People who are hypertensive and with edema should control salt intake. Kidney patients should have less than 3 grams intake one day.
  Low phosphorus: the food with high level of phosphorus include: sea food and thalassophyte, honey and yolk.
  Low fat: animal oil and greasy food is forbidden.
  High quality and low protein:take appropriate amount of egg white, milk and lean red meat, adjustthe intake quantity which should be less than 100grams; plant protein is forbidden, such as beans and bean-made products, bean curd, soymilk and various kinds of dried fruits, such as peanut, melon seeds as well as nuts.
  High vitamin; take more vegetables and various kinds of fruits, such as pear, apple, cucumber and tomatoes etc.

  Notes: No spicy food (fresh ginger, onion, garlic etc.)! No cigarettes and wine! Controlling the water intake when less urine appears, and water intake should be less than before.
